My plan is in fact to perform the signature verification on an unpacked version of the distribution artifact, unpacked during the post-package phase. This will guarantee we’re testing what we’re shipping, instead of the directory we’re building the shipping artifact out of, which might or might not include everything we want to test. I think this is probably preferable in principle, always assuming it works out.

I’m therefore going to put this work after https://shibboleth.atlassian.net/browse/MDA-266 , in which I am going to rework the structure of the project and separate out its packaging mechanics from the current cli module.
