i think it’s appropriate as a one off thing as commented on. Absence of templating is fine as well as the metadata manipulation should be an infrequent event.

+1 to the properties story and autolocation if that’s available/convenient. To me feels like low dev/sustainment effort but I’m not fingers on keyboard on it 🙂

Additional observation: one could adopt a pattern of doing metadatagen.sh and then have output sent to idp-metadata.xml as a technique. To me, if metadatagen.sh and the creation of that metadata converge to being consistent, it works. If the creation of the original idp-metadata.xml and metadatagen.sh are not the same code, I could see duplicate work or divergence on the idp metadata file.

Again, thanks for the work and where it’s at is functional and hope these comments are contructive.
