It would be nice to be able to filter metadata used by the CDS using some flexible mechanism such as presence/absence if given entity attribute values or (as a more general approach) an XPath expression.

Background: at present, the UK federation CDS skin makes use of two very similar metadata files, one with a complete list of all entities and a second with some IdPs removed ("hidden from WAYF").  The latter is presented by default, with the former being a user-selectable option (via a link called "search across all sites").  This means producing and signing two aggregates; it would be nice to be able to go down to just one, with the filtering being performed inside the application.
