OpenSAML v3 is removing most of those older dependencies.  Once it is complete, I think Xerces and Xalan will be the only dependencies that are not reliably maintained in Maven Central.

Also, inclusion in Maven central means you've set up an rsync or similar process.  It makes no statement about the quality of the product.
