Suggested fix - similar to what was done in http://svn.shibboleth.net/view/java-metadata-aggregator/trunk/aggregator-cli/src/script/bash/mda.sh?r1=78&r2=82&pathrev=82&diff_format=u 

I think it should either be called JVMOPTS (same as for mda.sh) or JAVA_OPTS (what Tomcat etc. use).
