Shibboleth Metadata Aggregator V0.10.0 now available

The Shibboleth Project is pleased to announce that V0.10.0 of the
Metadata Aggregator software is now available.[1]

This is a major feature release with many additions and changes. Please
see the release notes [2] or the complete issues list [3] for full
details; this short announcement will contain only highlights.

There are _many_ changes to the API in this release, and you should
expect to make changes in your deployment when migrating from previous
releases. Where possible, deprecation warnings are logged to allow
gradual migration.

Version 0.10.0 highlights include:

- Built on the same stack as Shibboleth Identity Provider V5, and uses
  the same component model and Spring resource classes. Note that this
  implies that Java 17 or later is a requirement for this release.

- Incorporates a large number of extension classes previously developed
  by the UK federation and by InCommon for common federation management
  use cases.

- A new "standard bean definition resource" greatly simplifies Spring
  XML configuration by providing abstract parent beans for each class. [4]

- The resource also enables tooling to assist with updating your
  configurations from earlier releases, in preparation for V1.0.0.

- The entire framework is now thread-safe, to allow for concurrent
  operation.

We intend this to be the last feature release before a V1.0.0 release
later this year, after which semantic versioning will be used. We expect
the V1.0.0 API to be essentially identical to that of V0.10.0, with one
exception: V0.10.0 includes migration assistance for users of previous
releases which will be removed from V1.0.0. Users of earlier versions
are therefore strongly encouraged to migrate to V0.10.0 now; the
subsequent V1.0.0 release should then be a drop-in replacement. Direct
migrations from earlier releases to V1.0.0 are not encouraged and will
not be supported.
