Stepping down from the project

As was announced in the Shibboleth working group session today, I am
leaving the Shibboleth project. I had planned to leave the project in
the middle of 2013 and have, over the last couple years, been
transitioning my work to other members of team. The unfortunate
political difficulties, and the resulting inability of the Consortium
to pay the developers, caused me to move up plans. Thankfully,
through the heroic efforts of Nicole Harris and Christoph Witzig this
situation has now been remedied.

Going forward, Brent Putman is the lead of the OpenSAML Java library;
Rod Widdowson is the lead of the discovery service work; Ian Young is
the lead of the Metadata Aggregator; Tom Zeller is the lead of the
IdP. From here on out all of my time to the project will be a
personal donation and will be focused on bringing Tom up to speed.

If your organization uses Shibboleth I strongly encourage you to join
the Shibboleth Consortium[1]. With support the project can continue
on for another 12 years, without it, it won't.

As a personal note, since I haven't told them this enough, the current
developers are some of the smartest and most entertaining people I've
ever had a chance to work with. So I give them a very big thank you
for making the last 10 years pretty enjoyable.
