Next Steps for the Shibboleth Consortium

Following on from the 'Shibboleth Futures' survey, the Shibboleth Consortium has published its proposals for opening the Consortium to further members.  

The Shibboleth Consortium operates as a set of organizations interested in funding the future development of Shibboleth.  The Consortium currently consists of three members - Internet2, JISC and SWITCH -  who have signed up to a Consortium Agreement and have appointed a partner organization to act as a legal entity for the Consortium.  From 1st January 2012, the Consortium plans to widen its membership base.

Information on the wiki includes the full programme plan for the Shibboleth Consortium, findings of the Shibboleth Futures study and a proposed fee model for the Consortium.  Feedback is specifically welcomed from the community on the fee structure: https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/consort/Shibboleth+Consortium.  

Feedback can be sent to nicole at shibboleth.net.  The consultation is open throughout October 2011, and your opinions will help shape the Consortium Operations from 1st January 2012. 

The Shibboleth Consortium remains dedicated to its vision to provide the open-source product of choice for organizations wishing to deploy federated identity.
